In accordance with the 2014 NHL Entry Draft in June, the NHL Central Scouting bureau has released its November Players to Watch List. Each player that is listed on the Watch list has an A, B or C ranking. A, denoting a player is a potential 1st round draft choice. B, meaning a 2nd or 3rd round draft choice and C, indicating players could be a 4th to 6th round pick.
There are 5 AJHL players on the November watch list, and 2 of them are Sherwood Park Crusaders.
Forward Nicholas Jones and Defenseman Marshall Donald have been ranked C skaters.
Jones is coming off an excellent showing at the World Junior A Challenge where he was 2nd in scoring on Team Canada West with 5 points. The Ohio State commit has nearly equaled his last year totals with 12 goals and 11 assists in 17 games this season with the Crusaders.
Donald, who is in his 3rd season with the Cru, is no stranger to NHL attention. Donald was on the NHL Central Scouting Preliminary Watch List last September, his impressive skating ability has always had the NHL scouts keeping a close eye on the 18 year old. Donald has 3 goals and 10 points on the season in 20 games so far this season with the Cru.
