Hockey Canada announced Friday their 66 man roster for the upcoming Canada West World Junior A Challenge Selection Camp this October.
4 Sherwood Park Crusaders have been selected to participate in the Camp that runs from October 26th to the 30th in Calgary, Alberta.
Goaltender Tommy Nixon is one of six goaltenders to be invited to the Camp. The 18 year rookie has 7 wins on the season and 2.67 goals against average with .905 save percentage.
Defenseman Marshall Donald is one of many AJHL blue liners to head down to Calgary. Donald has 3 goals and 10 points on the season and will be looking to follow in the footsteps of former teammate Josh Healey, who made the Canada West team last season.
A pair of Crusader Forwards will be in the mix. Veterans Nicholas Jones and Andrew Taverner will attempt to make the squad. Jones, leads the Crusaders in goals with 11, while Taverner leads the Crusaders with 20 points.
