Arjun Atwal Captures Crusaders MVP, Leading Scorer Awards

Sherwood Park Crusaders captain Arjun Atwal has won two team accolades for the 2019/20 season , capturing the team’s Most Valuable Player and the Leading Scorer awards.

The No.20?s contribution and leadership on the ice has been crucial in the Cru?s success. Under his captaincy, the team established itself as a dominant force in the league. The Crusaders finished top of the AJHL Viterra North Division and had a 49-9-0 record.

Atwal?s presence on the ice has earned him league-wide recognition this season, earning the AJHL’s Most Valuable Player award on February 26th. Not only did Atwal lead the Crusaders in points, but he ended the regular season as league’s scoring leader, having bagged 107 points (35G, 62A) in 54 games to win the Ernie Love Trophy. Atwal is also the is the first Crusader to score at least 100 points in a season in Ken Slywka in 1992.

The Edmontonian is a popular player amongst the fans and his teammates, and he has made a huge impact on the Crusaders organization. Atwal will leave as the second-highest scorer in franchise history, scoring 233 points in four seasons.
