Billy Sowa Joins Crusaders From WHL

Sherwood Park, AB: The Sherwood Park Crusaders proud to announce the addition of defenceman Billy Sowa (’02) after he was reassigned from the Swift Current Broncos of the WHL.

?We?re really looking forward to having him (Billy Sowa) in our lineup,? said General Manager Kyle Chase. ?Billy (Sowa) is a puck moving defenceman, a good skater, a solid defender, and somebody who is very reliable. We?re extremely happy to have him in our organization and are looking forward to seeing him in a Crusaders uniform very soon.?

Sowa joins the Crusaders after spending the last two seasons in the Western Hockey League with the Swift Current Broncos. The Calgary, AB, native played in 68 games for the Broncos scoring 9 points (2 goals, 7 assists).

He played his minor hockey with the Northern Alberta X-treme of the CSSHL where he was teammates, Carter Savoie and Michael Benning.

The organization would like to welcome Billy and his family to the Crusaders.

Fans can see Sowa and the rest of the Crusaders in action at the Sherwood Park Arena this Wednesday versus the Okotoks Oilers, and then on Friday against the Spruce Grove Saints. Tickets for the games are available here.
