Sherwood Park, AB: Sherwood Park Crusaders defenceman Cale Ashcroft (’04) has been added to the NHL Central Scouting players to watch list ahead of the 2021 NHL Entry Draft.
“We are very happy for Cale for getting recognized on the NHL Central Scouting List,” said General Manager and Head Coach Adam Manah. “This is the 5th player in the last 3 years that has made the list from our organization. We couldn’t be more proud of what Cale has accomplished in his young career thus far.”
Ashcroft is now in his second season with the Crusaders and has collected one assist in four regular season games. In his rookie season, he put up three goals and eight assists in 19 games.
The University of Denver commit was given a “C” grading by NHL Central Scouting. The “C” indicates he is a 4th, 5th or 6th round selection.
“The work is just beginning for him though. He is a player that will work extremely hard to not only stay on that list but will look to climb the ladder. He has a ton of potential to continue to improve and grow as a defenseman this year,” continued Manah.
The Crusaders organization would like to congratulate Cale and the Ashcroft family on this accomplishment.
