Sherwood Park Crusaders forward Carter Savoie has earned the Crusaders “Most Goals” Award for the 2019/2020 season.
Savoie finished the regular season with 53 goals to lead the organization. Not only did Savoie capture the Crusaders goal scoring trophy, but the AJHL’s, outpacing Jack Works of the Okotoks Oilers by 10 goals in the regular season.
The left-winger, who has committed to play at the University of Denver, was also second in points for the Crusaders this season with 99 (53G, 46A). He was only behind captain and linemate Arjun Atwal, who had 107 points in 54 games and won the AJHL’s Ernie Love Trophy.
The St. Alberta, Alta. native has spent two seasons with Sherwood Park. He scored 73 points (31G, 42A) in his first season for the Cru and won the CJHL?s Top Rookie Award.
He made a bigger impact this season on the ice, playing in the CHL Prospects All-star game alongside fellow teammate and Denver commit Michael Benning. He has played a major role in the team?s franchise record-setting season; he had four hat-tricks (Okotoks, Olds, Spruce Grove and Brooks) and a ten-game point streak at the start of the season.
