Clegg gets points in back-to-back games, Gylander picks up a couple of wins & Savoie scores his 9th of the season

Garrett Clegg was the highest-scoring Crusaders alumni in the NCAA over the past week. Clegg opened up his 2021 scoring account with an assist in back-to-back games for Robert Morris. Both his assists came as Mercyhurst last week. His first came early in the second period to the tie the game up at 1-1, then the following night, Clegg was involved in the opening goal setting up his teammate Kyler Head. He now has seven career NCAA points.

Carter Gylander has seen more starts come his way recently. Last week, the AJHL’s Top Goaltender started two of three games for the Colgate University Raiders. In those two starts, Gylander had a 3.00 GAA and picked up wins in both games. He now has a 0.906SV% and a 2.45 GAA in 10 games along with a 4-2-0 record.

Carter Savoie got back to his scoring ways over the weekend. The Edmonton Oilers draft pick scored his 9th of the season in a 4-1 win over Omaha. Michael Benning and Reid Irwin also dressed in games for Denver but didn’t register a point.

Ty Readman also dressed in one game for Northern Michigan University.

Over in Europe, Braden Christoffer buried another two goals for HC Innsbruck in two games. The Sherwood Park native has now taken his tally to 15 goals on the year which is 5th in the Austrian League.

Cody Kunyk scored a goal in two games over in Finland with Karpat. He’s now scored seven goals and 19 points for them.

In ECHL, Peter Quenneville has had a hot start to the season. Quenneville has played in 12 games Rapid City Rush and scored two goals and eight points. Ben Carroll is also in the ECHL playing in his first full season for the Allen Americans. Carroll has dressed in 13 games so far and collected one point.
