NCAA
Reid Irwin played in his first NCAA game for the University of Denver Pioneers last week dressing against Miami University. The former Crusader also stayed in the lineup for the Pioneers next game versus the University of Minnesota-Duluth. His teammates Carter Savoie and Michael Benning also played in those games and each registered points. Savoie scored another two goals to take his tally to six and picked up two assists along the way. Benning found the back of the net versus Miami University for his first NCAA goal on Thursday. He got an assist in that game too and now has seven points in six games.
Another player to score his first NCAA point was Jarred White with Western Michigan University. White assisted on the Broncos second goal in their 5-2 win over the Colorado College on Friday night. Brett Van Os scored two goals for the Broncos including the game-winner against St Cloud State University.
Staying in the NCHC; Tanner Laderoute scored two points against the University of Denver in a 4-1 win on Saturday morning.
Over in the Atlantic Hockey conference, Ryan Cox opened up his scoring account for the 2020/21 season in Niagara?s 4-1 win over Clarkson. Cox and the Purple Eagles have now moved to 1-1-1 on the season.
Merritt Oszytko and Cody Laskosky both dressed in RIT?s two games against Long Island University. Laskosky scored his second goal of the season in their 4-3 loss to the Sharks. Jacob Franczak also dressed in both of those games for Long Island.
Zach Kaiser and the UMass Lowell River Hawks got their season started on Sunday against Providence College. Kaiser was held pointless in a 4-2 loss.
Garrett Clegg?s (Robert Morris) and Carter Gylander?s (Colgate) teams both didn?t play this past week, and Ty Readman (Northern Michigan) and Will Zapernick (Vermont) are still waiting for their seasons to begin.
Europe
Of the four Crusaders alumni playing over in Europe, only Braden Christoffer was in action over the past week. The former Crusaders forward scored three goals in as many games to take his scoring tally to 11 on the year. Christoffer now has 26 points in 18 games for HC Innsbruck in Austria.
