Sherwood Park, AB: The Sherwood Park Crusaders made their final regular-season visit to the Casman Centre to face off against the Fort McMurray Oil Barons.
The Crusaders came out 2-1 winners in this contest. Zach Kaiser scored his first Crusaders goal in his debut on the powerplay just over two minutes into the game to give Sherwood Park a 1-0 lead. It took until the second period for them to beat Chris Curr again in the Oil Barons goal. Garrett Clegg opted to go for it on his own on a two-on-one with Kaiser and beat Curr short side to double the Crusaders lead.
In the third period, Fort McMurray pressed heavily on the Crusaders and did beat Berlin once with a tipped goal from their former player Tyson Scott. Despite that goal, Sherwood Park was able to hold on and secure their 32nd victory of the season and extend their lead at the top of the Viterra North Division to six points over the Bonnyville Pontiacs.
