Cru Explode For 3 in 1st vs Pontiacs

The Sherwood Park Crusaders held of the Bonnyville Pontiacs Friday night for their first win on the road this season.  A 3 goal 1st period was all the Crusaders needed as they picked up a 3-2 victory in Eastern Alberta.

Daniel Wray got the Crusaders going just under 2 minutes into the hockey game.  At 8:21 Nicholas Jones converted on the Power Play, the goal marked the 4th straight game the Crusaders scored on the Man Advantage.  The Cru lead the AJHL in Power Play goals with 5.

Less than a minute later, rookie Cameron Brezinski capped off the Crusader scoring with his first AJHL goal.

The Pontiac would get close to the Crusader lead with goals in the 2nd and 3rd periods.  Goaltender Tommy Nixon turned away 43 shots as he was named the Pro Hockey Life Player of The Game.  Nixon picked up his 2nd win on the season, extending the Crusaders winning streak to 3 games.

The Crusaders return to the ice Wednesday night in Lloydminster to take on the Bobcats.
