SHERWOOD PARK, AB: The Sherwood Park Crusaders are pleased to announce the acquisition of defenceman Cole Assailly (’03) from the Cranbrook Bucks of the BCHL.
“Cole is exactly the type of defenseman we needed and were looking to add,” commented Crusaders GM Adam Sergerie. “Cole was a highly touted prospect coming out of RHA Winnipeg and has spent two years in the BCHL. We felt that Cole’s skillset was something that would be important for us and the way we want to play the game. Cole’s skating allows him to always stay connected to the play and not to be behind the play.”
“We are happy to be adding Cole to our defence core,” echoed head coach Evan McFeeters. Cole skates very well and is good decision maker with the puck. We are excited to add Cole’s skill, skating, and experience to the Crusaders.”
Assailly has spent the past two seasons with the Bucks. In 55 games with the organization, the Winnipeg, Manitoba native collected a total of 21 points (2 goals, 19 assists).
The Crusaders would like to welcome Cole and the entire Assailly family to the organization.
