Sherwood Park, AB: The Sherwood Park Crusaders have acquired goaltender Jordan Frey (2000) from the La Ronge Ice Wolves (SJHL) in exchange for defenceman Michael Bentz (2000) and future considerations.
“Jordan (Frey) put up good numbers on a struggling team last season in La Ronge,” said General Manager Kyle Chase. “Towards the end of the season, he became a stronger goaltender, and we’re looking forward to having him be apart of our organization. We now feel that we have two excellent goaltenders on our team.”
Frey is heading into his third season of junior hockey after spending the last two in the SJHL with the Ice Wolves. The Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, native has played in 60 career games and has 4.92 GAA and a 0.888 SV%. Last season, in 32 games he had a 4.46 GAA and a 0.901 SV%. The 6’2” goaltender spent his Midget AAA year with the Saskatoon Contacts of the SMHL.
“I was initially surprised, but I am very excited to join such a prestigious organization,” said Jordan Frey. “Fans should expect a guy who never gives up on plays, and does whatever it takes to win.”
The Crusaders would like to welcome Jordan and the Frey family to the organization. Also, we’d like to thank Michael Bentz, and his family for their contributes on and off the ice the past two seasons and wish him the best of luck in the future.
