Crusaders acquire Morgan from Hounds

Sherwood Park, AB: The Sherwood Park Crusaders have acquire defenceman Matthew Morgan (03) from the Notre Dame Hounds (SJHL) in exchange for future considerations.

“We felt that the opportunity to add Matt was important for our back end,” said General Manager Adam Sergerie. “He’s local kid from Edmonton, a big body that’s skates very well, is able to take away time and space while also being able to transition pucks for us.”

Morgan is 6’4″ and 215 lb defenceman from Edmonton, Alberta. He played 23 games with the Hounds. In those 23 games, he scored two goals, four points, and had 115 penalty minutes. Morgan played his minor hockey with MLAC and SSAC.

“Matt is also a great kid who is full of character and will be a positive influence in the dressing room,” continued Sergerie.

The Crusaders would like to welcome Matthew and the Morgan family to the organization.

Fans can watch Morgan the rest of the Crusaders at the Randy Rosen Rink next Wednesday versus the Fort McMurray Oil Barons. Tickets for that game can be purchased here.
