Crusaders Acquire Perka from Notre Dame

SHERWOOD PARK, AB – The Sherwood Park Crusaders, have acquired '98 defenceman Riley Perka from the Notre Dame Hounds of the SJHL in exchange for '99 forward Chase Anderson.

“We're thrilled to be adding a player of Riley's calibre,” said Crusaders general manager Kyle Chase. “He's a terrific shutdown defenseman and adds a veteran presence to our back-end. Not only is he a valuable addition on the ice, he's going to be a fantastic leader for our team, and we're excited to have him here. We'd like to thank Chase Anderson for everything he has done for the Crusaders, and wish him all the best in the future both on and off the ice”.

Perka, 20, is a name that Crusaders fans may be familiar with; the Sherwood Park native was a member of the Sherwood Park Kings, and made his AJHL debut for the Crusaders in 2014/2015, playing three games for the organization. His junior career has also included time with the Bonnyville Pontiacs (2015/2016-2016/2017) and the Hounds (2016/2017/2017-2018). Throughout his 102 games in junior, Perka has posted seven goals and eight assists for 15 points.

Fans can first see Perka and the rest of the Crusaders on the ice on August 24th as training camp begins.
