SHERWOOD PARK, AB – The Sherwood Park Crusaders have acquired '97 forward Dylan Stewart from the Bonnyville Pontiacs for future considerations.
In 32 games with the Pontiacs last season, Stewart tallied 19 points, which included 11 goals. In addition to his time with Bonnyville, Stewart spent time with the Kootenay Ice of the Western Hockey League, picking up 6 points in 19 games. The 6'2, 210-pound forward has additionally spent time with the Prince Albert Raiders, also of the WHL.
Stewart, 20, is expected to bolster a young Crusaders lineup with his size and veteran presence.
“(Stewart) is a character player. We're looking forward to Dylan's leadership both on and off the ice this season,” said Crusaders general manager Kyle Chase at the time of the trade. “He's a big, strong power forward that will add to our offense.”
Stewart marks the 2nd new Crusaders acquisition of the week after the signing of 18 year old defenseman Tyler Pang on Tuesday.
Crusaders fans can catch their first glimpse of Stewart as well as the rest of the Crusaders squad on August 25th at the Sherwood Park Arena, as they kick off their official training camp.
