Crusaders Bounce Back With 5-3 Win Over Lloydminster

SHERWOOD PARK, AB – The Sherwood Park Crusaders did what they couldn't do in their last game, score and score on the power play.  Sherwood Park product Erik Miller had a debut to remember for the Crusaders, scoring twice in his first game with his hometown team in the AJHL, scoring both on the power play as the Crusaders defeated the Lloydminster Bobcats 5-3 Wednesday night.

Miller got the scoring started in the first period on the man advantage with Dylan Stewart and Merritt Oszytko adding the assists.

The Crusaders came completely alive in the middle frame when leading scorers Ty Readman and Merritt Oszytko took over.  Readman picking up a goal and an assist and Oszytko netting his eighth of the season.  Rookie Jacob Franczak scored his first AJHL goal in the second as the Crusaders were up 4-0 on the Bobcats after forty minutes.

Lloydminster inched their way back in the game with three goals, Miller added his second of the game in the third.

Brandon Vogel made 29 saves on 32 shots while counterpart Pierce Diamond stopped 36 of 41.  

The Crusaders will prepare for a two game road trip this weekend that sees stops in Fort McMurray on Saturday and Bonnyville on Sunday.
