The Sherwood Park Crusaders announced today that long-time broadcaster Taylor Medak would be leaving the organization to pursue other opportunities.
Since joining the organization in 2010, Medak has been the voice of the Crusaders, calling every game with an unmatched passion for the organization. Medak was also a staple at the Sherwood Park Arena outside of game days, both as the host of CrusadersTV and of the AJHL Coaches Show, always offering unique insight on the inner workings of the Alberta Junior Hockey League.
“When we hired Taylor in 2010 to be our play-by-play guy, he didn’t have a vast amount of experience but boy, he sure does now,” said Crusaders general manager Kyle Chase. “In my opinion, he’s one of the best play-by-play guys in the league, and he does a fabulous job. He’s a first-class individual, he’s very professional, and he always put the team first. He’s been absolutely fabulous, and he’s more than welcome here in the future. Personally, we just want to say thank you very much for everything you’ve done for the organization and the hockey team.”
The Crusaders wish Taylor the best of luck in his future endeavours.
An announcement on the Crusaders broadcasting future will follow in the coming weeks.
