DRAYTON VALLEY, AB – The Sherwood Park Crusaders completed the sweep of all three games they played in Drayton Valley in 2017-18, with a 4-2 win over the Thunder Wednesday night.
The game was highlighted with Forward Ashton Cassault's first multi goal game of his AJHL career. It was also a multi point evening for rookie Forward William Zapernick who assisted on both Cassault goals, the second being the game winner from Cassault at 6:41 of the second period. Zaperick also scored the Crusaders second goal, which came in the first period to give Sherwood Park a 2-0 lead after the opening frame.
Goaltender Joshua Dechaine turned away 32 Thunder shots to pick up his first victory in a Crusaders uniform.
The two teams will clash once again on Friday night in Sherwood Park for their fifth meeting of the season.
