Crusaders drop hard fought contest against Whitecourt

SHERWOOD PARK, AB – Things almost looked like a repeat of Friday night for the Crusaders against the Whitecourt Wolverines Saturday night as they allowed a goal in the first four minutes to the visitors.  The Crusaders found their game progressively through the first and entire second period putting up 26 shots in the middle frame, leading 2-1 after 40 minutes.

Unfortunately, four goals in a back and forth third period saw the Wolverines escape with a 5-3 on the road in Sherwood Park.

Both teams were a combined 0 for 4 on the power play.

Merrit Oszytko, Ty Readman and Garrett Clegg were the goal scorers for the Crusaders.

Sherwood Park has six days off before hosting the Fort McMurray Oil Barons on Friday November 3rd.
