Crusaders face two big score lines

In the last back-to-back set of January, Sherwood Park got both ends of the spectrum in terms of scoring.

Friday against Canmore was a positive affair, featuring goals from Levi Fesyk, Austin Cook, and Evan Arnold to wrap up a big first period. Just two and a half minutes into the second, Carter Myrol got the Eagles on the board on the powerplay. Seven minutes later, Caelum Dick got one back for the Cru and topped things off with an empty netter 50 seconds left in the third to send the Cru faithful home with a 5-1 victory. Gus Bylin made the start, and stopped 30 shots en route to the victory.

The next night against Calgary, things didn’t exactly go as planned. Blake Setter opened the scoring off of a lucky bounce in front, and Aidan Moore got another to close out the first. Justin Barker tallied just over two minutes into the second, Mitchell Joss ripped home his team leading 16th goal of the season, but that was all the offense Sherwood Park could muster. They sent 34 shots the way of Connor Martin, but Ty McRuvie collected two more for the Canucks en route to a 6-1 finish.

The Cru return on January 29th to take on the Grande Prairie Storm.
