Crusaders Fall for Second Straight Night

SHERWOOD PARK, AB – With Friday night's loss behind them, the Sherwood Park Crusaders were looking to carry the offensive momentum generated in the 6-4 loss to Drayton Valley into their fourth meeting of the season against the Whitecourt Wolverines.  However, the hottest team in the AJHL had other plans and extended their winning streak to nine games with a 4-2 victory over the Crusaders.

After a scoreless first period, Whitecourt scored three goals in a span of 5:25 early in the middle frame.

The Crusaders would chip away at the Whitecourt lead with a goal from William Zapernick, who extends his point streak to six games, and another goal from Forward Ryan Cox in the third period.

The Crusaders would get limited time in the offensive zone to try and tie the game with Brandon Vogel pulled for the extra attacker.

Both teams will clash once again, Tuesday in Whitecourt.

BOXSCORE: Wolverines 4 Crusaders 2
