On this episode of Crusaders Pregame, host Dawson Petryshen goes over the big losses to Whitecourt and Spruce Grove, and previews what needs to be done in tonight’s matchup against the Lloydminster Bobcats to open up the 2022 calendar year.
Coming off a 4-1 win against the same Wolverines of before the break, Sherwood Park was facing a big problem: they had five affiliate players on their roster. While the Cru made it close in the final 40 minutes, a four goal first period from the Wolverines carried them to a 6-1 victory. The following night in Spruce Grove, Sherwood Park played the Saints very well for the first two periods, including a shorthanded goal by Zac Maxwell, but three goals in the third from Spruce and the Saints walked away with a 5-1 decision.
