On this episode of Crusaders Pregame, hosts Zach Marks and Dawson Petryshen go over the first half of the 2021-22 Crusaders’ season, and preview that the team needs to do to get off to a hot start in the second half against the Whitecourt Wolverines and Spruce Grove Saints.
Looking to head into the holiday break with momentum, the Cru faced off against the Fort McMurray Oil Barons and Whitecourt Wolverines on a home and home series. The former of the two games ended in heartbreak for Sherwood Park, as they went into the third period up 3-0 over the Mob but a five goal performance led by Taige Harding gave Fort McMurray the win. Following this, the Crusaders went into Whitecourt the next night and bounced back with a 4-1 win including Levi Fesyk’s first AJHL goal.
Dawson also had a chance to speak with assistant coach Adam Sergerie and defenceman Brett Ursulak before the midweek split, about how far the team has come and how they feel coming out of the eight day break.
All the action can be found on HockeyTV, puck drop is at 7:15 on Wednesday, December 29 at the Randy Rosen Rink and 7:00 p.m. on Thursday at the Grant Fuhr Arena. Zach and Dawson will have the call Wednesday from Sherwood Park.
