On this episode of Crusaders Pregame, hosts Zach Marks and Dawson Petryshen look back on the weekend split against the Brooks Bandits and Drumheller Dragons, and preview the third matchup in as many weeks against the Lloydminster Bobcats.
Looking to bounce back from a 4-1 loss to the very same Bobcats, the Crusaders went into Brooks to take on the Bandits. With a three goal first period, goals coming from Dario Beljo, Aiden Fink and Hunter Wallace, the Bandits rode that wave to a 6-0 win. The very next night, the Cru headed to Drumheller, and had a much better result. Ashton McNelly opened the scoring with a nifty drop pass from Zac Maxwell, Myles Hilman tied things up 50 seconds into the second, but goals from Cale Ashcroft and Bruce MacGregor plus an empty netter from Bode Hagan sealed a 4-1 victory of their own. Marek Pocherewny was outstanding, making 32 saves.
Dawson also had a chance to speak with forward Carter Chorney ahead of the weekend, to discuss his game since joing the team and how they need to get back on top of Lloydminster.
