On this episode of Crusaders Pregame, hosts Zach Marks and Dawson Petryshen discuss Sherwood Park’s struggles against the Spruce Grove Saints, and look at how they can bounce back against the slumping Drayton Valley Thunder.
It was a very close contest on Friday, and a low scoring one at that. After a scoreless first, Cody Pisarczyk opened the gates, and Bruce MacGregor tied it at one late in the frame with his first goal in nearly 600 days. The third saw two Saints goals, and a flurry of Crusader chances, but Spruce Grove was able to hang on for the 3-1 decision. Gus Bylin made his fourth consecutive start, turning aside 22 shots in the loss.
Dawson also had a chance to chat with new Sherwood Park acquisition Carter Chorney ahead of the Thunder matchup, about how he’s fit himself into the lineup, especially on such a short notice.
