On this episode of Crusaders Pregame, hosts Zach Marks and Dawson Petryshen discuss the Cru’s goal scoring struggles as of late, and how they plan to come back against the Bonnyville Pontiacs.
With one goal in their last two games, Sherwood Park hosted the Spruce Grove Saints to close out their five game home stand. While the first period was close, Luigi Benincasa scored the lone goal of the frame to put the Saints ahead. The Crusaders were outshot 13-1 in the second period, but Gus Bylin stood tall and kept it a one goal lead for Spruce Grove. Carter Chorney put in a powerplay marker to tie the game, but three unanswered goal from the Saints put the matchup out of reach and Sherwood Park went home with a 4-1 decision.
Dawson had a chance to speak with Bylin before tonight’s matchup on his role with the team and how they’ve played as of late, as well as Austin Cook on the team’s mentality and goals heading into Bonnyville.
