On this episode of Crusaders Pre-Game, hosts Zach Marks and Dawson Petryshen reflect on Sherwood Park’s first win of the regular season, and preview the weekend to come against the Grande Prairie Storm.
The Crusaders had to put up a fight in Drayton Valley, squeaking out a 4-3 overtime decision, but a much better result than the 5-0 loss they suffered to open the preseason. Goals from Mitchell Joss and Austin Cook highlighted the offensive side of the game, and on the back end, goaltender Marek Pocherewny made and won his first AJHL start, making 41 saves.
Dawson had a chance to speak with Marek on the game that was, as well as highlight some learning lessons from the first few practices and what the team has done to gel together thus far.
The Crusaders now head north for a pair of games in Grande Prairie, who are still without a win on the young season.
