Sherwood Park, AB: The Sherwood Park Crusaders have acquired forward Zafir Rawji (2001) from the Olds Grizzlys in exchange for future considerations.
Rawji is rejoining the Crusaders after spending his rookie season in Sherwood Park. The Edmonton native dressed in 36 regular season games scoring four goals and 12 points. In the 2019/20 campaign, Rawji began the season with the Crusaders playing in four games before being moved to the Olds Grizzlys for future considerations.
?Zafir (Rawji) is a skilled player we moved to Olds last season as we couldn?t get him the offensive touches he was earning with our group,? said General Manager Kyle Chase. “We are extremely happy to have him back both on and off the ice.”
During his brief stint in Olds, he broke out as an offensive star scoring 15 goals and 41 points in 50 games. In the postseason, he scored one goal in the Grizzlys first-round series against the Drumheller Dragons. In week seven of the AJHL season, Rawji was named the Canalta Hotels Player Of The Week.
The Crusaders organization would like to welcome Zafir, his parents Shelina and Farzan and the rest of the Rawji family back to the organization.
