The Sherwood Park Crusaders made it four wins in a row this afternoon defeating the Lloydminster Bobcats 4-2.
The scoring began midway through the first period from rookie forward Carter Savoie for his 6th goal and 13th point of the season. Shortly after, the Crusaders found themselves on a 5-on-3 penalty kill with both Arjun Atwal and Garrett Clegg in the box. Lloydminster capitalized on the odd man advantage with a goal from Ethan Mack. However, the game was not tied for long with Will Zapernick scoring shorthanded just six seconds later.
The Crusaders started the second period strongly getting chance after chance to add to their lead. They would score a third three minutes into the second when Jayden Platz found Cameron Aucoin for his third of the season. Things got a little scrapper after that goal with a handful of players receiving roughing penalties and Brett Wieschorster receiving a misconduct. Tucker Scantlebury pulled the Bobcats back within one at the midway point of the frame. Sherwood Park would add a fourth late in the third. A shot from the point from captain Tyler Jette was tipped in by Jacob Franczak.
That would be it for the goals in this game. The Crusaders are now tied for first in the North Division with the Spruce Grove Saints and Bonnyville Pontiacs.
