SHERWOOD PARK, AB: The Sherwood Park Crusaders are proud to announce the signing of Gus Bylin (’02) from the Chippewa Steel (NAHL) for the 2021-22 season.
“”˜Gus is a goalie we identified a long time ago that we wanted to be part of our program,” commented Crusaders goaltending coach Kurtis Mucha. “Gus checks off a lot of our boxes when we look at recruiting elite goaltenders and we’re excited to have him be part of our team this season. His path getting to the Crusaders was one with some roadblocks but we’re thrilled to welcome Gus and his family to the Sherwood Park Crusaders.”
In four exhibition games with the Crusaders this season, Bylin is a sparkling 3-0-0. Prior to joining the organization, Bylin last played five games for the Chippewa Steel of the North American Hockey League, posting a 0-4-1 record with a .877 save percentage. The season previous, with Selects Academy 18U AAA, played a total of 43 games. ҬӬComing into the 2021-22 preseason, Bylin played three games and impressed with a 3-0 record, .955 save percentage and a 1.31 goals against average.
