Sherwood Park, AB: The Sherwood Park Crusaders are proud to announce the signing of goaltender Marek Pocherewny (2003) from the Okanagan Hockey Academy.
“We are excited to add a quality goaltender and person in Marek to the Crusaders organization,” said goaltending coach Kurtis Mucha. “Creating depth at this position was a priority of ours, and Marek will bring healthy competition to our net. We’d like to welcome The Pocherewny’s to the Crusader family.”
Pocherewny is a 6’1″, 165 lb goaltender from Calgary, Alberta. He spent the past two seasons with the Okanagan Hockey Academy in Penticton, British Columbia. During his time there, Pocherewny played in 28 games and posted 0.902SV% along with a 2.50 GAA.
Before playing in Penticton, he played with the Calgary Buffalo Hockey Association with the Rangers (U16) and Bisons (U15). In one season with the Rangers, Pocherewny finished with a 3.22 GAA and 0.906SV% in 21 games. Then, in two seasons with the Bisons U15 AAA team, the Calgary native had a 1.58 GAA and a 0.924SV% in 30 games.
The Crusaders would like to welcome Marek and the Pocherewny family to the organization.
