Lloydminster, AB: The Sherwood Park Crusaders ended the first half of the season with a bang beating the Lloydminster Bobcats 8-1 on the road.
The Crusaders got out to a comfortable 4-0 after the first 20 minutes of play. Arjun Atwal, Blake Sydlowski, Jacob Kendall and Michael Benning (University of Denver) got the goals for Sherwood Park. Kendall?s goal was a special one as he was playing in 200th junior career game.
Connor Hart got the scoring started, again, in the second period with another slap shot from the blueline. The Crusaders defenceman now has four goals in his last six games to take his tally to seven on the season. Atwal also scored in the period to make it 6-0 Sherwood Park with his second of the game.
Lloydminster pulled one back on the powerplay from Brendan Morrow to make it 6-1.
In the third, the Crusaders added a couple more goals to make it an 8-1 final. Jarred White (University of Alabama-Huntsville) showed off his hands and scored a highlight-reel goal for his 23rd of the season. Then, Kendall got back on the board for his second of the game.
Between the pipes, Jordan Frey turned aside 24 of the 25 shots he faced for his 13th win of the season.
