Crusaders Tame The Dragons On The Road

Drumheller, AB: The Sherwood Park Crusaders began their three game weekend road trip on Friday night with a stop at the Drumheller Memorial Arena.

The Crusaders found themselves down 1-0 after 20 minutes of play. Dragons forward Eric Martin opened the scoring for Drumheller with his 23rd of the season at midway mark of the first.

However, Sherwood Park answered back quickly in the second frame.Will Zapernick(University of Alabama-Huntsville) set a new career high scoring his 5th shorthanded goal of the season a minute into the period. Carter Savoie (University of Denver) then gave the Crusaders the lead with five minutes to play in the second with his 41st goal of the season.

Savoie scored again in third period to give the Crusaders a 3-1 lead which is how it finished at the Drumheller Memorial Arena.
