SHERWOOD PARK, AB: The Sherwood Park Crusaders have traded goaltender Carson Cherepak (2002) to the Dauphin Kings in exchange for future considerations.
“With us having three goalies at camp this year it was very competitive between the pipes,” commented Crusaders head coach and general manager Adam Manah. “Ultimately, we had to make a tough decision on who we were going to keep and having the best tandem. Carson had a solid rookie year with us in 2020-21 and we know that he will be going to a great spot in Dauphin. He will be their #1 guy and have a great opportunity to obtain a scholarship. He’s a terrific kid and a solid goaltender.”
“We just want to give him the best opportunity to play and have success. We wish him all the best in making the move to Dauphin.”
In just under two seasons with the Cru, Cherepak posted a 5-5-2 record along with a .910 save percentage and 3.02 G.A.A. Prior to his time in Sherwood Park, Cherepak plied his trade for the Winnipeg Wild.
The Crusaders would like to wish Cherepak and his family all the best in Dauphin and thank them for their contributions to the organization.
