Sherwood Park, AB: The Sherwood Park Crusaders have traded forward Nick Magis (2001) to the Flin Flon Bombers in exchange for the CJHL playing rights of defenceman Rhett Rhinehart (2001) & Future Considerations.
“This was a very difficult move for us,” said General Manager and Head Coach Adam Manah. “Nick is a terrific kid and a great hockey player. He plays the game hard and was a player we could rely on in key situations late in games whether we were up or down by a goal. On top of that he was a solid leader and was well-liked in our room.”
Magis joined the Crusaders three years ago from OHA Edmonton Prep. The Leduc, Alberta, native played in 70 games for the Crusaders from 2019 to 2021. During his time in Sherwood Park, Magis scored eight goals and 24 points.
“We want him to have an opportunity to play in an offensive role in Flin Flon and be a big part of their team in his final season of Jr. hockey,” continued Manah. “We thank Nick for everything he has done for the Crusaders and wish him all the best moving forward.”
Rhett Rhinehart is currently a member of the Saskatoon Blades in the Western Hockey League. He’s played in 208 games in the WHL for the Prince Albert Raiders, Prince George Cougars, and the Saskatoon Blades. Rhinehart was also a member of the 2018 Canada Red U17 team that played at the U17 World Hockey Championship.
The Crusaders organization would like to thank Nick and the Magis for all the commitment and the support they’ve given to the team. And also like to wish him the best of luck with the Bombers and the future.
