Sherwood Park, AB: The Sherwood Park Crusaders have traded defenceman Kevin Minnoch (2002) to the Melfort Mustangs (SJHL) in exchange for future considerations.
“This was another move for us to make,” said General Manager and Head Coach Adam Manah. “Kevin has been another player for us that is going into his third year of Jr. A hockey and was just never able to get off the ground running. He battled some injuries throughout the past two years and could never get into a constant groove in our lineup.”
Minnoch joined the Crusaders three years ago from the Knights of Columbus of the AEHL. The Sherwood Park, Alberta, native played in 34 games for the Crusaders from 2019 to 2021. During his time in Sherwood Park, Minnoch scored one goal and seven points.
He has all the tools to be a great defenseman”, continued Manah. He skates well, eyes are up and is a puck mover. He needs a chance to be an everyday defenseman. In Melfort, he will get that opportunity to play significant minutes and a prominent role. We think he will he will thrive and have success. He is a terrific person, and we wish him all the best in Melfort.”
The Crusaders organization would like to thank Kevin and the Minnoch for all the commitment and support they’ve given to the team and wish him the best of luck with the Mustangs and the future.
