Gibson Commits To Sherwood Park

Sherwood Park, AB: The Sherwood Park Crusaders are proud to announce the signing of forward James Gibson (2003) for the 2020-21 season.

Gibson, 17, joins the Crusaders from the OHA Edmonton Prep of the CSSHL.

?James (Gibson) is a skilled player with a big body (6?3) that can create a lot offensively,? said General Manager Kyle Chase. ?His skating has improved immensely over the past year, and we are excited to see how well he adapts to Junior A.?

The 6?3, 174 lbs forward played in 34 games for OHA Edmonton last season and averaged 1.5 points per game finishing with 50 points and 20 goals. Gibson surpassed his point total from the year before with the OHA Edmonton Elite 15s where he had 46 points (27 goals, 19 assists) in 33 games. Back in 2018, he became an Alberta Cup Champion with Team Edmonton Blue alongside his new teammate Ashton McNelly.

Gibson dressed in four games for the Crusaders last year against Camrose Kodiaks, Lloydminster Bobcats, and a pair versus the Grande Prairie Storm.

The Crusaders would like to welcome James and his parents Teresa and David and the entire Gibson family to the Crusaders organization.
