Okotoks, AB: At this years CJHL Top Prospects game held in Okotoks, AB, the Sherwood Park Crusaders were represented by rookie goaltender Carter Gylander. Gylander was one of six players from the Alberta Junior Hockey League as Team West went on to defeat Team East 5-2 in a fantastic contest.

The Colgate University Raiders commit came in to replace Matthew Davis (Spruce Grove Saints) midway through the second period with the score at 2-1 in favour of Team West. In the remaining 30 minutes, the Beaumont native went to stop 16 of the 17 shots he faced, and he help his Team West teammates go on to defeat Team East for the third consecutive year.

“It was a very humbling experience playing with some of the best Jr. A talents across the country. Met some great guys off the ice and created new friendships along the way,” said Carter Gylander. “Okotoks organized and put on a fantastic event and made it something special. I am very grateful for the opportunity to compete at the game.”

Also, earlier this week, Gylander was ranked 12th amongst North American goaltenders in the NHL Central Scouting Midterm rankings.
