Irwin scores first collegiate goal, Gylander gets first win, and Cox hits red hot form

Ryan Cox has been red hot for the Niagara University Purple Eagles. In his past four games, the former Crusaders sniper has netted three goals and picked up two assists. Cox has now taken his points tally to seven points in nine games which is now his career high in the NCAA.

Over at the University of Denver, Reid Irwin fired home his first collegiate goal versus Colorado College on Saturday. He then followed that up with his second in similar fashion. Irwin has now dressed in five games for Denver in his freshman year. His teammate, Carter Savoie also scored against Colorado College to take his total to a team leading eight goals. Michael Benning picked up the assist on Savoie?s goal.

Carter Gylander got his first NCAA start for Colgate versus Clarkson last night. The result didn?t go in the favour of Gylander but he has now played in four games for Colgate University. In those four games, he?s posted a 2.50 GAA, a 0.889 SV% and has a record of 1-1-2. Gylander?s first career win came in a 5-4 OT victory when he came in relief and stopped 12 shots.

In the Hockey East Conference, Zach Kaiser dressed in two games for UMass Lowell. On December 21st, Kaiser found the back of the net for his six collegiate goal and first of the season.

Garrett Clegg (Robert Morris), Cody Laskosky (RIT), Merritt Oszytko (RIT), Will Zapernick (Vermont), Tanner Laderoute (University of Minnesota-Duluth), Jarred White (Western Michigan), Brett Van Os (Western Michigan), Ty Readman (Northern Michigan) and Jacob Franczak (Long Island University) all played in games too over the past two weeks.
