Sherwood Park, AB: The Sherwood Park Crusaders are proud to announce the signing of defenceman Jack Keranen (2003) from Delano High School.
“Jack (Keranen) is a defender we have been looking for this whole summer,” said Assistant General Manager and Associate Coach Jeff Woywitka. “He’s a right-handed shot who can play the game anyway you want him to. He plays a controlled game and understands the defensive side, which can sometimes be hard for a young defenceman. He has great character and will fit the direction we are heading in. We are happy to welcome the Keranen family to the organization.”
Keranen is 6’0″, 194 lb defenceman from Delano, Minnesota. He spent his high school hockey career with Delano High in his hometown. Keranen played 66 games for the Tigers scoring ten goals and 36 points over three years. In his senior year, he was name the captain of his high school team and helped lead them to a 14-7-1 record. Keranen played in 18 games last season and scored two goals and 15 points.
Keranen is now the sixth signing the Crusaders have made ahead of the 2021-22 season. He joins goaltender Marek Pocherewny, forwards Logan Hauer, Ty Hurley, Ryan Arnold, Levi Fesyk, and defenceman Owen Pringle.
The Crusaders would like to welcome Jack and the Keranen family to the organization.
