Hoping to head into 2022 on a high note, the Sherwood Park Crusaders hosted the Lloydminster Bobcats for the final time this season inside the Randy Rosen Rink.
The first period could simply be described as lopsided, as Jared Miller and Mason Franz got the Bobcats on the board and outshot the Cru 18-5. However the green and white weren’t finished, and came back with a 20-8 shot period of their own but the lone goal came from Ethan Aucoin. Now down three, Zac Maxwell put Sherwood Park in the goal column just five minutes into the third. Cade Christenson put on a laser wrist shot to bring the Cru to within one, and helped outshoot the Bobcats 17-6 in the period, but Aucoin iced the game on an empty net and sent SHerwood Park fans home with a 4-2 final.
The Crusaders now head back to the border city to take on the Bobcats for the final time this season, that game comes to you on Wednesday, January 5th.
