Player of the Week: William Zapernick

Sherwood Park, AB: Will Zapernick (University of Alabama-Huntsville) has been named the Crusaders TV Player of the Week for the opening week fo the season.

After three games, the Crusaders assistant captain leads the team in goals with three and has a couple of assists to his name. He started out the season with a two goal performance versus the Lloydminster Bobcats with one of those goals being the game winner. Zapernick was also the recipient of the “What’s The Deal?” Player of the Game following the action on Friday night.

In game two versus the Bobcats, the Edmonton native picked up a single assist on the Jacob Franczak goal early in the third period. Then, on Tuesday night versus the Drayton Valley Thunder, Zapernick got the Crusaders on the board when he deflected in a Arjun Atwal shot from the high slot.

Fans can catch Zapernick and the rest of the Crusaders in action this weekend against the Whitecourt Wolverines and Fort McMurray Oil Barons at the Sherwood Park Arena. Tickets are available here.
