Sherwood Park, AB: The Sherwood Park Crusaders have signed ?00 defenceman Vaclav Prospal from the Barrie Colts of the Ontario Hockey League.
“We’re happy to to have him here,” said General Manager Kyle Chase. “He’s a guy that skates well and makes good decisions with the puck. We’re lucky to have him here and he should be in the lineup this weekend against Spruce Grove.”
Propsal joins the Crusaders after spending last season in the Czech Republic playing for the Motor Ceske Budejovice U19s where he had 10 points (4 goals, 6 assists) in 39 games. Before his time in Europe, the 6?2?, 192 lbs defenceman spent two years in the Tampa Scorpions program in the NAPHL playing in 22 games and scoring 8 points (2 goals, 6 assists).
The organization would like to welcome Vaclav and his family to the Crusaders.
