Sherwood Park Crusaders defenseman Reid Irwin has been named the team?s Most Sportsmanlike Player for this season.
The 1999-born player has the fourth-least penalty minutes out of the Cru?s defense, having spent a total of 34 minutes in the box. He had no penalties for nine consecutive games throughout November and December.
Irwin, a native of Victoria, B.C., has spent his AJHL career between the Sherwood Park Crusaders and the Lloydminster Bobcats. The 2019/20 campaign is his first full season in a Crusader uniform, and he has had his best statistical season yet.
The 21-year-old has 35 points through the regular season, with eight goals and 27 assists. In his career, he has scored 84 points (17G, 67A) and played 175 games.
Irwin has committed to the University of Denver for the 2020/21 season.
