Sherwood Park, AB: The Sherwood Park Crusaders are excited to announce that Carter Savoie (2002) has been named a finalist for the 2018-19 CJHL Top Rookie award.

In his first year with the Crusaders, the University of Denver commit scored 73 points (31 goals, 42 assists) in 58 games which led the team. Savoie finished fifth in league scoring and was the highest scoring rookie in the AJHL.

In February, the St Albert native was named the AJHL Rookie of the Year beating out fellow finalists Matthew Davis (Spruce Grove Saints),  Roc Truman (Drumheller Dragons), and Brady Parker (Okotoks Oilers) becoming the first Crusader to receive the honour since Andrew Luciuk in  1995.
