Sherwood Park, AB: Earlier today, the AJHL announced the 2018-2019 AJHL Award Finalists for Most Valuable Player, Rookie of the Year, Outstanding Defenceman, Top Goaltender, Most Dedicated Player and Coach of the Year.
The Sherwood Park Crusaders had one player nominated for an award with Carter Savoie being named a finalist for the Rookie of the Year award, presented by Canalta Hotels.
Savoie has had an outstanding rookie campaign with the Crusaders. The University of Denver Pioneers commit leads all rookies in scoring with 66 points (27 goals, 39 assists) in 50 games. Those 66 points are also the 5th most in the AJHL.
The other finalist for the award are Brady Parker (Okotoks Oilers), Roc Truman (Drumheller Dragons), and Matthew Davis (Spruce Grove Saints).
