Sherwood Park, AB: The Sherwood Park Crusaders are proud to announce the signing of defence Austin Cook (2002) from the New Jersey Junior Titans (NAHL) for the 2021-22 season.
“Austin (Cook) is a defenseman we have had our eyes on since he finished up his last year at Mount St. Charles Academy,” said General Manager and Head Coach Adam Manah. “He has a very high hockey IQ that skates well and can play at a high pace. He will be a big contributor offensively, whether that is joining the rush or on our PP. His vision, how he sees the ice and being a puck-moving type of defenseman will fall right into our style of play. We see big things for Austin on our back end and are excited to get him into our line-up.”
Cook is a 5’10″, 165 lb forward from West Berlin, New Jersey. Last season, Cook played in the North American Hockey League for the New Jersey Junior Titans. In 21 games for the Titans, the West Berlin native picked up two assists. Before his time with the Titans, Cook attended Mount St Charles Academy and was a member of their U18 AAA program. In 55 games for Mount St Charles, he scored six goals and 49 points.
The Crusaders would like to welcome Austin and the rest of the Cook family to the organization.
