On Saturday night, the Sherwood Park Crusaders wrapped up the Showcase Weekend in Camrose against the Camrose Kodiaks at the Encana Arena.
Brandon Vogel started in goal for the first time since opening night against the Drayton Valley Thunder.
Camrose opened the scoring two minutes into the opening period with a goal from Colson Gengenbach. Shortly after, the Crusaders defenceman Michael Benning had a goal disallowed after the net had been taken off posts. The first period would end with Gengenbach adding a second with just under two minutes to play.
The second period started out in a similar fashion to the first with the Kodiaks scoring right around the two-minute mark. Zach Vindell found Kyler Kupka backdoor for the tap-in goal. Sherwood Park would pull one back for Arjun Atwal on the powerplay for his fifth of the season with the assist coming from Michael Benning.
The Crusaders would concede once more when Cam McAdams scored on the powerplay.
The final score at the Encana Arena was 4-1 to the Kodiaks with the Crusaders falling to a 3-2-2 record.
