Sherwood Park, AB: The Sherwood Park Crusaders head to Brooks Saturday night to take on the Brooks Bandits, exactly one week after the two sides met in the reverse fixture.
Last week?s matchup at Sherwood Park Arena proved to be a memorable night for both the players and the large crowd. The Cru gave the fans something to smile about early on thanks to goals from Will Zapernick and Jarred White. Carter Savoie had a hat-trick, rounding it off with an unassisted third goal. The Crusaders ended the night as 7-4 winners.
Brooks have made Centennial Regional Arena a tough place to visit, winning their last two games 6-1 and 8-0 against the Olds Grizzlys and the Calgary Canucks, respectively. The team has the chance to improve its home form further thanks to a three-game home stretch. Bonnyville visited last night, the Crusaders play Saturday, and Okotoks arrives Sunday.
The same could not be said for the team?s away form, and the Bandits have lost back-to-back road games. They have not won on the road in January, but there is a chance to end that drought if they defeat Okotoks at the end of the month.
Fans can catch the game at Average Joe?s on Baseline Road. Puck drop is at 7 P.M.
