The Maxwell Devonshire Realty Pregame: Crusaders vs Saints

Sherwood Park, AB: It is a battle between East and West of the Edmonton area as the Sherwood Park Crusaders and the Spruce Grove Saints close out the Cru?s final regular-season home game.

The Saints sit below the Crusaders in the AJHL North Division standings and have a 40-13-2 record. The good standing is mainly thanks to forward Ryan Peckford and Graham Gamache. Peckford leads Spruce Grove in points (55), and rookie Gamache has committed to Minnesota State University, Mankato.

Two other big names that have committed to play at the NCAA level next season are Seth Fyten and Stanley Cooley. Fyten – brother of former WHL forward Andrew – has committed to Bowling Green State University, and Cooley has signed for Northeastern University.

The Cru has won four of their last five meetings with the Saints, last facing each other on December 30th. Sherwood Park won that game 6-1 thanks to Carter Savoie (University of Denver)?s double. Jacob Franczak, Ty Mueller (Omaha Nebraska), Tanner Fincaryk and Connor Hart rounded off the night with goals.

Minor hockey players can get in for free if they wear their team jerseys. Tickets can be purchased at the box office. Puck drop is at 2:15 P.M.
